1. Purpose of This Policy
This Shipping & Delivery Policy explains the responsibilities and expectations relating to the shipment and delivery of items listed or purchased through AntiqList.
Because AntiqList operates as an online marketplace connecting buyers and sellers, shipping arrangements are generally made between the buyer and seller unless AntiqList expressly provides or facilitates a shipping service.
This Policy is intended to promote safe, transparent, and responsible shipping practices.
2. Scope
This Policy applies to shipping and delivery activities associated with listings, purchases, sales, local collection, domestic shipments, and international shipments conducted through AntiqList.
It applies to individual sellers, professional sellers, buyers, and other users involved in marketplace transactions.
3. AntiqList's Role
AntiqList generally acts as a marketplace and platform provider and is not the carrier, courier, freight forwarder, customs broker, insurer, or delivery provider unless expressly stated otherwise.
Unless expressly agreed:
AntiqList does not physically possess the item;
AntiqList does not package the item;
AntiqList does not transport the item;
AntiqList does not control the carrier;
AntiqList does not guarantee delivery times; and
AntiqList is not responsible for carrier delays, loss, theft, or damage caused during transportation.
Mandatory rights and legal obligations may apply regardless of the limitations described in this Policy.
4. Seller Shipping Responsibility
Sellers are responsible for shipping items in accordance with the terms stated in their listings and applicable law.
Where a seller offers shipping, the seller should:
package the item appropriately;
use a suitable shipping method;
provide accurate delivery information;
comply with carrier requirements;
provide tracking information where available;
retain proof of shipment;
comply with applicable customs and export requirements; and
communicate material shipping problems to the buyer promptly.
5. Buyer Responsibility
Buyers are responsible for:
providing an accurate delivery address;
reviewing shipping costs and delivery estimates;
complying with applicable import requirements;
paying applicable duties and taxes where legally required;
being available to receive deliveries where necessary; and
promptly reporting delivery problems.
A buyer should carefully review the seller's shipping terms before completing a purchase.
6. Shipping Methods
Sellers may offer different shipping methods depending on the item, destination, size, weight, value, and applicable restrictions.
Shipping methods may include:
postal services;
courier services;
express delivery;
freight services;
specialist antique or art transportation;
insured transportation; or
local pickup or hand delivery.
Any available shipping method should be accurately described in the listing.
7. Delivery Estimates
Delivery estimates provided by sellers or carriers are generally estimates and are not necessarily guaranteed delivery dates.
Delivery times may be affected by:
carrier delays;
weather;
strikes;
customs inspections;
public holidays;
incorrect addresses;
security procedures;
import restrictions;
transportation disruptions; or
other circumstances outside the seller's reasonable control.
Where consumer protection law provides mandatory delivery rights, those rights will prevail.
8. Shipping Costs
Shipping costs should be clearly communicated to the buyer before the transaction where reasonably possible.
Depending on the listing, shipping costs may be:
included in the item price;
charged separately;
calculated based on destination;
calculated based on size or weight; or
agreed directly between buyer and seller.
Additional charges should not be intentionally concealed from the buyer.
9. Packaging Requirements
Sellers should package items appropriately for their nature and value.
Packaging should take reasonable account of:
fragility;
weight;
dimensions;
material composition;
age;
existing condition;
susceptibility to moisture;
susceptibility to impact;
vibration sensitivity; and
handling requirements.
Antique, collectible, artwork, glass, ceramic, porcelain, jewelry, watches, furniture, and other fragile objects may require specialist packaging.
10. Fragile and High-Value Items
High-value or fragile items should be shipped using an appropriate carrier and packaging method.
Sellers should consider:
reinforced packaging;
shock protection;
moisture protection;
tamper-evident packaging;
tracking;
signature on delivery;
specialist transportation; and
appropriate insurance.
The seller remains responsible for complying with any shipping obligations imposed by applicable law or the agreed transaction terms.
11. Shipping Insurance
Where appropriate, sellers and buyers should consider obtaining shipping insurance for valuable or fragile items.
Insurance availability and coverage depend on the selected carrier or insurance provider.
Users should review:
coverage limits;
exclusions;
declared value requirements;
claim deadlines;
packaging requirements; and
documentation requirements.
AntiqList does not guarantee that an item is insured unless AntiqList expressly confirms such coverage.
12. Tracking Information
Where tracking is available, sellers should provide accurate tracking information to the buyer.
Users should rely on tracking information obtained from the carrier's legitimate systems.
Tracking numbers should not be fabricated, altered, or falsely represented.
13. Proof of Shipment
Sellers should retain reasonable evidence that an item was shipped.
Such evidence may include:
shipping receipts;
tracking records;
carrier acceptance records;
photographs of the packaged item;
photographs of shipping labels; or
other appropriate documentation.
Such records may be relevant in the event of a dispute.
14. Proof of Delivery
Where available, proof of delivery may include:
carrier delivery confirmation;
signature confirmation;
delivery photographs;
pickup records; or
other carrier-generated records.
Proof of delivery does not necessarily resolve disputes concerning damaged, counterfeit, materially different, or otherwise problematic items.
15. Lost Shipments
If a shipment appears to be lost, the seller should promptly contact the carrier and, where appropriate, initiate a carrier investigation.
The buyer should cooperate by providing relevant information requested during the investigation.
Refund or cancellation rights may depend on:
applicable law;
the seller's obligations;
the transaction terms;
the payment method; and
the circumstances of the loss.
16. Delayed Shipments
If an item is significantly delayed, the buyer should first contact the seller.
The seller should provide reasonable information concerning:
shipment status;
carrier information;
expected delivery;
customs delays; and
any known delivery problem.
Where applicable, buyers may have cancellation or refund rights under consumer protection law or the agreed transaction terms.
17. Damaged Shipments
If an item arrives damaged, the buyer should:
inspect the package as soon as reasonably possible;
photograph the external packaging;
photograph the internal packaging;
photograph the damage to the item;
retain the packaging and shipping materials; and
notify the seller and relevant carrier promptly.
Where an insurance claim may apply, the required evidence should be preserved.
18. Concealed Damage
Damage that is not immediately visible upon delivery should be documented as soon as it is discovered.
Buyers should avoid unnecessarily discarding packaging materials before determining whether they may be needed for a carrier or insurance claim.
19. Incorrect Delivery Address
Buyers are responsible for providing accurate delivery information.
Where delivery fails because a buyer supplied an incorrect or incomplete address, additional shipping charges, return costs, or other consequences may apply, subject to applicable law.
20. Refused Delivery
A buyer should not intentionally refuse delivery solely to avoid agreed shipping obligations unless the buyer has a lawful right to do so.
Refusing delivery may result in:
return-to-sender charges;
additional shipping costs;
delays;
disputes concerning refunds; or
other consequences permitted by applicable law.
21. Failed Delivery
If delivery cannot be completed, the buyer and seller should cooperate with the carrier to resolve the issue.
Depending on the carrier, the item may be:
redelivered;
held at a pickup location;
returned to the seller; or
subject to another carrier procedure.
22. Return-to-Sender Shipments
If an item is returned to the seller because delivery could not be completed, the parties should communicate promptly regarding the next steps.
Responsibility for additional shipping costs depends on the circumstances and applicable law.
23. Partial Shipments
If an order contains multiple items, the seller should clearly communicate if the items will be shipped separately.
Where tracking is available, each shipment should be identified appropriately.
24. Split Shipments
Where items are shipped separately, buyers should not assume that all items will arrive simultaneously.
Sellers should provide reasonable information concerning separate shipments.
25. International Shipping
International shipments may involve additional legal, customs, tax, documentation, and carrier requirements.
Buyers and sellers are responsible for understanding the requirements applicable to the countries involved in the transaction.
26. Customs, Import and Export Requirements
Antique and collectible items may be subject to special import or export restrictions.
Depending on the item and jurisdiction, requirements may include:
export permits;
import permits;
customs declarations;
certificates;
provenance documentation;
cultural property documentation;
age or material declarations;
valuation documents; or
other government-required records.
Users must not misdeclare the nature, value, origin, age, or contents of an item.
27. Duties and Taxes
International transactions may be subject to:
customs duties;
import VAT;
sales taxes;
customs processing charges;
brokerage fees; or
other governmental or carrier charges.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, buyers and sellers should independently determine which party is responsible for applicable charges.
Mandatory tax and consumer laws prevail over conflicting private arrangements.
28. Cultural Heritage and Export Restrictions
Certain antiques, archaeological objects, artworks, manuscripts, religious objects, historical artifacts, and other cultural property may be subject to export restrictions or government authorization.
Users must not ship items where shipment, export, import, possession, or sale is prohibited.
AntiqList may restrict or remove listings where there are concerns regarding cultural heritage or unlawful export.
29. Protected Wildlife and Restricted Materials
Items containing protected animal materials or other restricted materials may be subject to international trade restrictions.
Examples may include certain forms of:
ivory;
tortoiseshell;
coral;
protected animal skins;
feathers;
bones;
teeth; or
other regulated wildlife materials.
Users are responsible for obtaining any required permits and ensuring that the transaction is lawful.
30. Weapons and Restricted Items
Certain weapons, historical weapons, military objects, ammunition, and related items may be subject to legal restrictions.
Sellers and buyers must comply with all applicable laws and carrier requirements.
Items prohibited under AntiqList's Prohibited & Restricted Items Policy may not be shipped through the platform.
31. Required Documentation
Where documentation is legally required for shipment, import, export, insurance, or customs clearance, the responsible party must provide accurate documentation.
False, altered, incomplete, or misleading documentation is prohibited.
32. Carrier Restrictions
Carriers may prohibit or restrict certain materials, objects, dimensions, values, destinations, or packaging methods.
Sellers are responsible for selecting a carrier capable of legally transporting the relevant item.
33. PO Boxes and Pickup Locations
Some carriers or shipping services may not deliver certain items to:
PO boxes;
parcel lockers;
pickup points;
hotels;
temporary addresses; or
other restricted locations.
Buyers should verify delivery requirements before completing a transaction.
34. Local Pickup and In-Person Handover
Where a seller offers local pickup, the buyer and seller should agree on:
location;
date;
time;
identification requirements;
payment arrangements; and
inspection procedures.
Users should choose safe and appropriate meeting locations.
For high-value items, additional verification and documentation may be appropriate.
35. Buyer Inspection
Buyers should inspect an item as soon as reasonably possible after receiving it.
For valuable or potentially fragile items, buyers should document:
packaging condition;
item condition;
serial numbers where applicable;
identifying marks;
certificates;
provenance documents; and
any visible discrepancies.
36. Transfer of Delivery Risk
The allocation of risk during shipment may depend on applicable law, the seller's terms, the transaction agreement, the carrier arrangement, and whether the seller is acting as a professional trader.
Nothing in this Policy is intended to remove mandatory consumer rights.
37. Seller's Obligation to Ship
Where a seller has accepted a transaction and agreed to provide shipping, the seller should ship the item within the stated or legally required timeframe.
A seller should not intentionally delay shipment without a legitimate reason.
38. Buyer Cancellation Due to Delay
Where applicable law or the transaction terms provide a cancellation right because of unreasonable or legally significant delivery delay, the buyer may exercise that right.
AntiqList may assist with communication or dispute review where appropriate, but does not automatically determine the legal rights of either party.
39. Non-Delivery
If an item does not arrive, the buyer should first contact the seller and verify the tracking information.
Where appropriate, AntiqList may review available information concerning the transaction.
Potential outcomes may depend on:
the transaction terms;
payment arrangements;
applicable law;
carrier evidence;
seller evidence; and
the circumstances of the case.
40. Fraudulent Tracking Information
Providing fake, recycled, manipulated, or unrelated tracking information is prohibited.
Examples of suspicious conduct include:
providing a tracking number belonging to another shipment;
falsely claiming an item has been delivered;
manipulating delivery information;
providing a non-existent tracking number; or
using tracking information to mislead a buyer.
Such conduct may result in listing removal or account enforcement.
41. Fake Carrier Messages and Delivery Scams
Users should be cautious of messages claiming to be from carriers that request:
additional payments;
passwords;
account credentials;
payment-card information;
cryptocurrency payments;
unusual transfer fees; or
login information.
Users should verify suspicious communications directly through the carrier's official website or customer service channels.
42. Shipping Fraud
Shipping-related fraud may include:
fake shipment confirmations;
fake delivery confirmations;
fraudulent tracking numbers;
false customs charges;
fake insurance claims;
payment diversion;
counterfeit shipping documents; or
impersonation of carriers.
Users should report suspected fraud to AntiqList promptly.
43. Communication During Shipping
Buyers and sellers should communicate material shipping issues promptly and accurately.
Sellers should provide reasonable updates when:
shipment is delayed;
the carrier loses the item;
customs holds the item;
the shipping address is incorrect;
the item is returned; or
another material delivery problem occurs.
44. Shipping Disputes
Shipping disputes should generally be addressed first between the buyer and seller.
Where appropriate, users may contact AntiqList for assistance under the Dispute Resolution Policy.
AntiqList may request supporting evidence.
45. Evidence in Shipping Disputes
Relevant evidence may include:
listing information;
messages;
invoices;
payment records;
shipping receipts;
tracking records;
photographs;
carrier correspondence;
customs documents;
insurance records; and
delivery confirmations.
Users should preserve relevant evidence until the dispute is resolved.
46. Refunds and Returns Related to Delivery
Refunds or returns arising from:
non-delivery;
significant delivery delays;
shipping damage;
incorrect items;
materially different items; or
other transaction problems
may be governed by the applicable transaction terms, seller policies, AntiqList's Refund & Cancellation Policy, and mandatory law.
47. Third-Party Carriers
When third-party carriers are used, the carrier's terms and conditions may also apply.
Users should review the carrier's requirements and limitations before shipment.
AntiqList is not responsible for the independent acts or omissions of third-party carriers unless applicable law provides otherwise.
48. Insurance Claims
Where an insured shipment is damaged, lost, or otherwise affected, the responsible party should follow the insurer's or carrier's claim procedures.
AntiqList may request evidence of an insurance claim during a dispute review where appropriate.
49. AntiqList Is Not the Carrier
Unless expressly stated otherwise, AntiqList does not operate the transportation service.
AntiqList does not control:
carrier routes;
delivery schedules;
customs processing;
driver conduct;
warehouse handling;
transportation conditions; or
carrier decisions.
50. No Guarantee of Delivery
AntiqList does not guarantee that every shipment will:
arrive on a particular date;
arrive without delay;
arrive without damage;
arrive at the intended address; or
successfully clear customs.
Nothing in this Policy excludes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded.
51. Legal Compliance
All users must comply with applicable laws concerning:
shipping;
transportation;
customs;
import and export;
taxation;
consumer protection;
cultural heritage;
wildlife protection;
restricted goods;
intellectual property; and
other applicable regulations.

shipping information; and
tracking information.
Users must handle other users' personal information responsibly and only for legitimate transaction or delivery purposes.
Additional information is available in the AntiqList Privacy Policy.

AntiqList does not physically possess the item;
AntiqList does not package the item;
AntiqList does not transport the item;
AntiqList does not control the carrier;
Where a seller offers shipping, the seller should:
package the item appropriately;
use a suitable shipping method;
provide accurate delivery information;
comply with carrier requirements;
provide tracking information where available;
retain proof of shipment;
comply with applicable customs and export requirements; and
communicate material shipping problems to the buyer promptly.
5. Buyer Responsibility
Buyers are responsible for:
providing an accurate delivery address;
reviewing shipping costs and delivery estimates;
complying with applicable import requirements;
paying applicable duties and taxes where legally required;
being available to receive deliveries where necessary; and
promptly reporting delivery problems.
A buyer should carefully review the seller's shipping terms before completing a purchase.
6. Shipping Methods
Sellers may offer different shipping methods depending on the item, destination, size, weight, value, and applicable restrictions.
Shipping methods may include:
postal services;
courier services;
express delivery;
freight services;
specialist antique or art transportation;
insured transportation; or
local pickup or hand delivery.
Any available shipping method should be accurately described in the listing.
7. Delivery Estimates
Delivery estimates provided by sellers or carriers are generally estimates and are not necessarily guaranteed delivery dates.
Delivery times may be affected by:
carrier delays;
weather;
strikes;
customs inspections;
public holidays;
incorrect addresses;
security procedures;
import restrictions;
transportation disruptions; or
other circumstances outside the seller's reasonable control.
Where consumer protection law provides mandatory delivery rights, those rights will prevail.
8. Shipping Costs
Shipping costs should be clearly communicated to the buyer before the transaction where reasonably possible.
Depending on the listing, shipping costs may be:
included in the item price;
charged separately;
calculated based on destination;
calculated based on size or weight; or
agreed directly between buyer and seller.
Additional charges should not be intentionally concealed from the buyer.
9. Packaging Requirements
Sellers should package items appropriately for their nature and value.
Packaging should take reasonable account of:
fragility;
weight;
dimensions;
material composition;
age;
existing condition;
susceptibility to moisture;
susceptibility to impact;
vibration sensitivity; and
handling requirements.
Antique, collectible, artwork, glass, ceramic, porcelain, jewelry, watches, furniture, and other fragile objects may require specialist packaging.
10. Fragile and High-Value Items
High-value or fragile items should be shipped using an appropriate carrier and packaging method.
Sellers should consider:
reinforced packaging;
shock protection;
moisture protection;
tamper-evident packaging;
tracking;
signature on delivery;
specialist transportation; and
appropriate insurance.
Users should review:
coverage limits;
exclusions;
declared value requirements;
claim deadlines;
packaging requirements; and
documentation requirements.
Such evidence may include:
shipping receipts;
tracking records;
carrier acceptance records;
photographs of the packaged item;
photographs of shipping labels; or
other appropriate documentation.
Such records may be relevant in the event of a dispute.
14. Proof of Delivery
Where available, proof of delivery may include:
carrier delivery confirmation;
signature confirmation;
delivery photographs;
pickup records; or
other carrier-generated records.
Refund or cancellation rights may depend on:
applicable law;
the seller's obligations;
the transaction terms;
the payment method; and
the circumstances of the loss.
16. Delayed Shipments
If an item is significantly delayed, the buyer should first contact the seller.
The seller should provide reasonable information concerning:
shipment status;
carrier information;
expected delivery;
customs delays; and
any known delivery problem.
Where applicable, buyers may have cancellation or refund rights under consumer protection law or the agreed transaction terms.
17. Damaged Shipments
If an item arrives damaged, the buyer should:
inspect the package as soon as reasonably possible;
photograph the external packaging;
photograph the internal packaging;
photograph the damage to the item;
retain the packaging and shipping materials; and
notify the seller and relevant carrier promptly.
Refusing delivery may result in:
return-to-sender charges;
additional shipping costs;
delays;
disputes concerning refunds; or
other consequences permitted by applicable law.
21. Failed Delivery
If delivery cannot be completed, the buyer and seller should cooperate with the carrier to resolve the issue.
Depending on the carrier, the item may be:
redelivered;
held at a pickup location;
returned to the seller; or
subject to another carrier procedure.
Depending on the item and jurisdiction, requirements may include:
export permits;
import permits;
customs declarations;
certificates;
provenance documentation;
cultural property documentation;
age or material declarations;
valuation documents; or
other government-required records.
Users must not misdeclare the nature, value, origin, age, or contents of an item.
27. Duties and Taxes
International transactions may be subject to:
customs duties;
import VAT;
sales taxes;
customs processing charges;
brokerage fees; or
other governmental or carrier charges.
Examples may include certain forms of:
ivory;
tortoiseshell;
coral;
protected animal skins;
feathers;
bones;
teeth; or
other regulated wildlife materials.
PO boxes;
parcel lockers;
pickup points;
hotels;
temporary addresses; or
other restricted locations.
Buyers should verify delivery requirements before completing a transaction.
34. Local Pickup and In-Person Handover
Where a seller offers local pickup, the buyer and seller should agree on:
location;
date;
time;
identification requirements;
payment arrangements; and
inspection procedures.
Users should choose safe and appropriate meeting locations.
For high-value items, additional verification and documentation may be appropriate.
35. Buyer Inspection
Buyers should inspect an item as soon as reasonably possible after receiving it.
For valuable or potentially fragile items, buyers should document:
packaging condition;
item condition;
serial numbers where applicable;
identifying marks;
certificates;
provenance documents; and
any visible discrepancies.
Potential outcomes may depend on:
the transaction terms;
payment arrangements;
applicable law;
carrier evidence;
seller evidence; and
the circumstances of the case.
40. Fraudulent Tracking Information
Providing fake, recycled, manipulated, or unrelated tracking information is prohibited.
Examples of suspicious conduct include:
providing a tracking number belonging to another shipment;
falsely claiming an item has been delivered;
manipulating delivery information;
providing a non-existent tracking number; or
using tracking information to mislead a buyer.
Such conduct may result in listing removal or account enforcement.
41. Fake Carrier Messages and Delivery Scams
Users should be cautious of messages claiming to be from carriers that request:
additional payments;
passwords;
account credentials;
payment-card information;
cryptocurrency payments;
unusual transfer fees; or
login information.
Users should verify suspicious communications directly through the carrier's official website or customer service channels.
42. Shipping Fraud
Shipping-related fraud may include:
fake shipment confirmations;
fake delivery confirmations;
fraudulent tracking numbers;
false customs charges;
fake insurance claims;
payment diversion;
counterfeit shipping documents; or
impersonation of carriers.
Users should report suspected fraud to AntiqList promptly.
43. Communication During Shipping
Buyers and sellers should communicate material shipping issues promptly and accurately.
Sellers should provide reasonable updates when:
shipment is delayed;
the carrier loses the item;
customs holds the item;
the shipping address is incorrect;
the item is returned; or
another material delivery problem occurs.
44. Shipping Disputes
Shipping disputes should generally be addressed first between the buyer and seller.
Where appropriate, users may contact AntiqList for assistance under the Dispute Resolution Policy.
AntiqList may request supporting evidence.
45. Evidence in Shipping Disputes
Relevant evidence may include:
listing information;
messages;
invoices;
payment records;
shipping receipts;
tracking records;
photographs;
